Ballbreaker was met with mixed reviews from music critics, but was commercially successful, reaching number one in six countries and selling over five million copies worldwide. The album's lead single, "Hard as a Rock", was commercially successful, reaching number one in Australia and number four in the United States. The second single, "Hail Caesar", was less successful, reaching number forty-one in Australia. The third and final single, "Cover You in Oil", was also less successful, reaching number sixty-six in Australia.
