The Californian band was formed in 1965 by country music legend Joe McDonald and guitarist Barry Melton in Berkeley. Their 1967 debut album, "Electric Music For The Mind And Body," reached the US Top 40 and is still considered one of the pioneers of psychedelic rock. A second album "I Feel Like I'm Fixin' To Die" followed in 1967. The band toured the US and participated in the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. They performed regularly at the Fillmore West and East and played with bands such as The Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Led Zeppelin and Iron Butterfly. Their debut album "Electric Music For The Mind And Body" is out now in a valuable 2CD deluxe edition digipak including a 32-page booklet. The recordings appear here for the first time in their original mono and stereo mixes, which have not been available since the album's original release.
