Hania Rani: Esja versión en vinilo LP en estándar edición. Esta edición en concreto se lanzó en Reino Unido en la editorial Gondwana Records el día 1. junio 2023.
Pianist and composer Hania Rani lives between Warsaw, her adopted home, and Berlin, where she studied and still works frequently. "Glass" is the title of the first single from her album "Esja", which the Pole describes as her "first real statement" as an artist: "No more hiding behind 'collaborations' and some 'projects'. Yes, finally for the first time it's just about me, about who I am." The recording of "Esja", which Hania Rani made in her apartment in Warsaw - her piano room has excellent acoustics; she now uses the space both as an (art) studio and as a kind of laboratory for sound experiments - and in her friend Bergur Þórisson's studio in Reykjavik, contains a total of ten melodic vignettes from her pen. Her compositions are sensual, soulful, rhythmic, atmospheric, open and harmonic at the same time, seductive and hypnotic, evoking a feeling that seems to momentarily blur the boundaries of space and time. Indeed, the shimmering opener "Glass" has a fragile glass-like quality; the many reflections and shades of colour of the mirrored glass are also clearly audible. Product information Hania Rani is a composer and musician who divides her life between Warsaw and Berlin. Her compositions for piano were born out of a fascination with the piano as an instrument and a desire to interpret its sonic and harmonic possibilities in their full breadth and in her own way. Her debut album for Gondwana Records, to be released in 2019, aims to evoke a sense of limitless space and time, and her music reflects the influence of the Icelandic landscape and the Polish Bieszczady Mountains. Like all great artists, Hania Rani is constantly evolving musically and looking for where her next project might take her, and we're happy to be a part of her journey.
