On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the release of the feature film "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back", the original soundtrack to the film is released on 180gram vinyl as a double LP with a sleeve. The film's music, composed by John Willams and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, has been lavishly remastered. The film and music for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back have won several awards, including two Academy Awards® and two Golden Globes®, and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Score (1981). John Williams, one of the world's most successful and respected composers, has composed original music for more than 100 films over five decades, including all nine Star Wars films. Williams has won five Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, seven British Academy Awards, five Emmy® Awards and 25 Grammy® Awards. With 52 Academy Award nominations, Williams is the most nominated living person and the second most nominated person in history, after Walt Disney.
