The Clash: Combat Rock + The People's Hall versión en vinilo 3LP en remasterizado edición. Esta edición en concreto se lanzó en la editorial Columbia el día 20. mayo 2022.
"Combat Rock" was released in May 1982 and was the last album The Clash recorded with their most famous line-up (Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon). The LP became the band's best-selling album and also achieved the best chart positions in the US and UK that The Clash had achieved in their career.
A look at the track list explains this success: it includes two of the band's best-known songs, "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" and "Rock The Casbah", and other fan favourites "Straight To Hell" and "Know Your Rights".
A special edition of the classic will be released in May 2022 under the title "Combat Rock / The People's Hall", which will complement the original album with 12 additional tracks compiled by The Clash.
When The Clash returned to London in 1981 after 17 shows at New York's Bond's Casino, the band rehearsed at The People's Hall in the activist-founded Republic of Frestonia near Latimer Road. From there they embarked on a tour that took them to South East Asia. Among other things, they stopped in Thailand, where Pennie Smith shot the LP cover artwork.
The songs on "The People's Hall" - including previously unheard tracks and rare early versions - document the period between the release of the single "Radio Clash" and the release of "Combat Rock".
These tracks include a new version of "Know Your Rights", recorded in the Rolling Stones' mobile recording studio at The People's Hall, and a previously unreleased instrumental "He Who Dares Or Is Tired". Other treats include "Futura 2000", a previously unreleased original mix of "The Escapades of Futura 2000", "Radio One" featuring Mikey Dread, and outtakes "The Fulham Connection" (formerly: "The Beautiful People Are Ugly Too") and "Idle in Kangaroo Court". The "Combat Rock" album was influenced by the Vietnam War, which ended just a few years before the LP's release. The song "Sean Flynn" thematizes the story of photojournalist and son of Hollywood legend Errol Flynn, who disappeared in the chaos of war and remains missing to this day. The LP showcases the band's constant musical evolution, experimenting with different styles and voices and letting themselves be heard by beat poet Allen Ginsberg ("Ghetto Defendant") and graffiti artist Futura, who contributes a rap interlude to "Overpowered By Funk."
The Clash were a crucial influence on punk, post-punk and indie rock, and the songs on "Combat Rock" continue to inspire a new generation of listeners and musicians today. "Should I Stay Or Should I Go," for example, plays a major role on the soundtrack to the first season of Netflix's hit show "Stranger Things," and M.I.A. used samples from "Straight To Hell" in her song in "Paper Planes."

Páté album Clash z roku 1982 dokazuje, že anglické punkové legendy byly i v osmdesátých letech na špici. Jejich divoké koketování s rapem, funkem a reggae se projevilo v obrovských hitech jako Should I Stay Or Should I Go, Rock The Casbah, Car Jamming a Straight To Hell. I dnes jde o velmi poslouchatelnou albovou událost.
