With "Odalheim", Swedish death metal pioneers UNLEASHED not only release a chronological successor to 2012's "As Yggdrasil Trembles", but also continue to tell a story after the end of the world, wrapped in Norse mythology of course. After the mighty world tree Yggdrasil trembled and announced the end of the world, Fimbulwinter followed: three years of darkness and winter, during which mother nature took back what was rightfully hers. This marked the end of life as we know it. Ragnarok. But the surviving warriors will create a new world from the ashes of the old. And this is where the story of Odalheim begins. The Swedes release their eleventh studio album, Odalheim. And once again this powerful line-up of Johnny (bass and vocals), Fredrik (solo guitar), Tomas (rhythm guitar) and Anders (drums) have created a multi-faceted and anthemic album in the typical UNLEASHED format. The album "Odalheim" was produced by Fredrik Folkare and recorded at Chrome Studios in Sweden. The story of this legendary band does not need to be repeated again. If you do, here's the short version: Johnny Hexlund (bass and vocals) gathered a wild horde in 1989 after the demise of legendary underground death metal pioneers NIHILIST (the other members formed ENTOMBED). Since the release of their debut album "Where No Life Dwells" in 1991, UNLEASHED have been one of the most influential bands on the scene and any proper death metal fan has seen them live more than once, touring with DEATH, MORBID ANGEL, AT THE GATES CANNIBAL CORPSE, ENTOMBED and SAMAEL to name a few! Nine more studio albums followed, making history.
