Due to some personnel changes, the fourth album was the first to be recorded with what is still considered a "classic" line-up. With new members Mark Clarke and Lee Kerslake, Uriah Heep managed to take it a step further. Thanks to the singles "The Wizard" and "Easy Livin", the British band achieved great commercial success. Although the title and cover art suggest a clear shift towards romantic medieval themes, Uriah Heep's music on "Demons & Wizards" is in many places harder and more expressive than before.

"Demons & Wizards" z roku 1972 navázalo přesně tam, kde předchozí album "Look At Yourself" skončilo, a upevnilo status Uriah Heep jako jedné z nejlepších kapel té doby.

Vzhledem k řadě personálních změn bylo čtvrté album prvním, které bylo nahráno v sestavě, jež je dodnes považována za "klasickou sestavu". S novými členy Markem Clarkem a Lee Kerslakem se Uriah Heep podařilo jít ještě o kus dál. Zejména díky singlům "The Wizard" a "Easy Livin" zaznamenali Britové velký komerční úspěch. Ačkoli název a obal naznačují jasný obrat k romantizujícím středověkým motivům, hudba Uriah Heep na "Demons & Wizards" je na mnoha místech těžší a stručnější než dříve.

"Demons And Wizards" jako obrazový disk Nejen hezky se poslouchá, ale nyní i hezky vypadá: U příležitosti 50. výročí vydání dvou alb Uriah Heep z roku 1972, "Demons And Wizards" a "The Magician's Birthday", budou v roce 2022 znovu vydána jako elegantní picture disky.

"Demons And Wizards" je čtvrté studiové album britských rockových legend. Původně vyšlo 19. května 1972 jako pokračování alba "Look At Yourself" (1971) a bylo prvním albem, které bylo nahráno v "klasické sestavě": David Byron - zpěv, Gary Thain - baskytara, Lee Kerslake - bicí, Mick Box - kytara a Ken Hensley - klávesy a kytara.

Deska "Demons And Wizards" se dostala na 20. místo hitparády v domovské Velké Británii, na 5. místo v Německu a na 1. místo ve Finsku. Tím začalo komerčně nejúspěšnější období kapely. Nejúspěšnějšími singly z alba byly "The Wizard" a "Easy Livin'".
