Warlock's debut on colored vinyl Dorothee Pesch, better known as Doro, is a German rock icon. The singer rose to fame in the 1980s as the lead singer of the heavy metal band Warlock and launched a successful solo career in the late 1980s. In 2021, her record-loving fans can look forward to several special vinyl reissues. Doro's albums "Doro" (1990), "True At Heart" (1991) and "Angels Never Die" (1993) and Warlock's albums "Burning The Witches" (1984), "Hellbound" (1985) and "True As Steel" (1986) will be released in limited editions on colored vinyl. "Burning The Witches" is the debut album by German heavy metal band Warlock. It was originally released in November 1984 and was recorded at Klangwerkstatt studio in Düsseldorf with producers Axel Thubeauville and Peter Zimmerman. It offers unpolished but not ungainly heavy metal in the tradition of the early eighties - no fancy stuff, no thrash, but traditional stuff with wrist tacks and frocks. The songs are called "Signs Of Satan" or "Metal Racer" and contrast the flaws in the songwriting with audible passion. The title track in particular proved to be an instant hit and the obligatory ballad "Without You" is not missing. Incidentally, women were rare or even non-existent in the world of hard music at the time, but Doro made her mark and kicked down several doors on the road to metal equality - which is why she still enjoys the respect of the fan community and can rightly be called the "Queen of Metal". "Burning The Witches" reached number 39 in the German chart.
