The album's lead single, "Legs", became a huge hit and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The album's sleek and polished sound helped define the sound of 80s rock music. The songs on the album are full of catchy hooks and guitar riffs, and the band's solid musicianship is on full display. The album's production is slick and polished, but not too slick and polished, and the songs are a perfect blend of rock and blues. The album is a perfect example of how to make a successful rock album.

With this masterpiece, the three Texans finally managed to break through on the international scene in 1983. After the more-or-less successful albums of 1971-1981, this (eighth) album marked a change from gritty, raw blues to the stadium rock sound that made ZZ Top famous around the world. The whole album is characterized by synth sounds combined with solid hard rock riffs, but here and there they sound more like pop than real hard rock. Many critics blamed them for this, but of course this musical reorientation is also strongly related to the electro phase of the eighties. Their first two US Top 10 singles "Legs" (number 8) and "Gimme All Your Lovin'" (number 10) showed that they were successful with it. They also made a name for themselves in the MTV decade with their music videos, which certainly contributed greatly to their popularity and cult status. The album contains arguably the trio's biggest and most well-known hits, with the killer riffs in "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Gimme All Your Lovin'" etched in the memory of a generation. But the tracks "Got Me Under Pressure" and "Legs" are not to be missed either. The last single was "TV Dinners", a great groove track. Sometimes you wonder why other bands have four, five or even more musicians on stage when three men are obviously enough.

Jejich první dva americké Top 10 singly "Legs" (číslo 8) a "Gimme All Your Lovin'" (číslo 10) ukázaly, že byli úspěšní.
Album obsahuje pravděpodobně největší a nejznámější hity tria, přičemž vražedné riffy v písních "Sharp Dressed Man" a "Gimme All Your Lovin'" se vryly do hlav celé generace. Ale ani "Got Me Under Pressure" a "Legs" nejsou k zahození. Posledním singlem byla "TV Dinners", skvělá groovová skladba. Někdy si člověk říká, proč mají ostatní kapely na pódiu čtyři, pět nebo dokonce více muzikantů, když tři muži očividně stačí.
