Jean-François Dandrieu

Baroque-era French composer and organist

Jean-François Dandrieu (1682–1738) was a French Baroque composer, harpsichordist, and organist. He was an important musical figure in the early 18th century, known for his contributions to the French organ and harpsichord repertoires. Dandrieu was born into a family of artists and musicians, which provided him with a rich cultural environment to nurture his talents. He became an organist at the prestigious Saint-Barthélemy church in Paris at a young age and later served as an organist for the Chapelle Royale.
